Following the release of her polarizing Wuthering Heights adaptation, British director Emerald Fennell has confirmed that another adaptation based on a beloved classic is in the works.

“When I was in a college history course, we had to read The Epic of Gilgamesh. I didn’t like having to read so many pages, but I loved the implicit bosom-heaving present in it. I want to make the movie I imagined at the age of 20.”

According to an anonymous crew member, Fennell’s Epic of Gilgamesh will feature a soundtrack by Taylor Swift. Additionally, only the first part of the epic will be adapted, and substantial changes have reportedly been made. Enkidu and Gilgamesh’s contest will become a scene of mutual masturbation, while Enkidu’s fatal disease has been changed to syphilis. The casting has also garnered controversy: Timothée Chalamet will play the titular king of Uruk, and Margot Robbie will play the “wild man” Enkidu.

“You know, originally, I tried to reach out to Jakey-poo, but he was too busy with the new season of Euphoria to play another famously white leading man of classic literature. I knew casting Margot would be controversial, but this is going to be really psychosexual and twisted, pushing those societal boundaries, so I needed a man and a woman.”

The MQ’s publicity editor and tavern wench, Claire is allegedly a second-year theatre major. When not doomscrolling for post ideas, she can be found slithering around the Galbraith basement, trying to bring back “forsooth”, and listening to Kate Bush’s hit 1978 album The Kick Inside.
