Last July, Anonymous, a self-identified group of decentralized “hacktivists,” posted a video on all social media platforms condemning the “dirty, rotten, gross, even” state of the world.
In their video, a masked individual wearing a dapper suit explained they’ve had enough of “like, corruption and stuff” and are officially declaring a state of internet war. The individual did not elaborate, but claimed that “big, big things are happening” and that a “super important database may or may not have been breached.”
Online users patiently waited for several months, anticipating the release of classified information or “even just” a GoFundMe update. After a viral call-out Xeet, Anonymous posted a brief follow-up, warning politicians that “we’re serious man” and “we got you now!”
Despite these threats, no further public action has been taken by Anonymous. Former supporters began to question the hacktivists’ integrity. One user, @billythegoat commented “Can you guys at least like, doxx someone?”
A representative of the group, Mr. Anon, recently took to X to address claims of their “uselessness”, saying, “Listen, we understand that to the average person with no coding experience, it might appear as though nothing is being done, but, behind the scenes, we control the world. We are Anonymous.”
No further updates have been released.
Destiney is an enigma, downright gaseous if you will. A being of many words, but little thought. You may find them listening to Sabrina Carpenter or spacing out in very unfortunate places. Know that they perceive you and they are only a little bit concerned that you dislike them.
