After another launch of SpaceX’s Starship rocket culminated in a “rapid unscheduled disassembly,” one expert noted: “This means that it blew up (in other words, the rocket exploded).” SpaceX was quick to contend that the launch was “a huge, tremendous success.” “Starship achieved all mission objectives — surpassed them, even,” said chief engineer Brock Etboom. “It went so high. And we got so much data. Nobody has any reason at all to be disappointed about this performance.”

At a press conference after the event, CEO Elon Musk said, “It’s, um… truly remarkable how everything just seems to go right for me. Not just this rocket launch, either. My Cybertruck delivery event came very close to meeting the low end of expectations, and advertisers on X simply love me and my recent, completely normal remarks.”

In an X post, one SpaceX employee said, “It is unfortunate that the flight termination system had to kick in, but on the bright side, that stage separation was hot. We’re launching the most powerful rocket ever, please give us a break. It’s literally rocket science.” Musk replied, “You have said the actual truth.”
