Over the last week, acclaimed film critic Arnold Armchair uploaded a series of posts on X about Fodder, aspiring filmmaker Cammy Camera’s debut film. Many X users have described his comments as “confusing” and “vague,” but are likely mistaken considering Armchair’s history of nuanced and thoughtful film analysis.

Although the film was generally well-received at the time of its showing, Armchair describes the film as “a photosynthetic failure that insists upon itself, with not an ounce of the verisimilitude shown by other works in the fiction genre. Hastily composed with tympanic imagery that reeks of high lows and low highs, Fodder is certainly one of the motion pictures made this year.”

However, not all of Armchair’s posts about the film were critical. He notes a decent cast and script, describing them as being “clearly passionate and impassioned about their craft, working with a script that is written, but also transcribed.” Armchair goes on to bring further praise to the film, writing that Camera has produced a “seminal work that’s sure to inspire think pieces both past, present, and future.”

Under Armchair’s most recent post on X, Camera has replied with a “Nerd Face” emoji.
